When In Rome...
In early April, Nubia and I took an amazing vacation to Italy. We were thrilled to not only visit the ancient ruins Rome but also to attend the wedding of our good friends in Florence, and we shared some amazing food experiences to boot. I hope you'll enjoy this brief, photo-heavy recap of Pt. 1 of our trip and some of the food we ate!
Welcome to Rome!

We hopped right off the plane, dropped our bags at the hotel, then we were off to our first stop, the Colosseum!

We were super hungry after flying 8 hrs from New York, so we decided to have lunch at a little restaurant near the Colosseum.
Every pizza in Rome is delicious! This looks like peperoni but was actually spicy salami.

After a quick nap, we called an Uber to check out the Trevi fountain. How romantic!

Then this happened...

She said yes!

After taking some photos near the fountain, we took a little walk and stopped for a quick drink and dessert.

The next day, we visited the Vatican Museum, and the magnificent St. Peter's Basilica.

After touring the museum (which we were told is the second largest in the world!) and walking up nearly 500 stairs to the top of the dome at St. Peter's Basilica, we needed to refuel.
We had some excellent sandwiches near the Vatican, at Duecentogradi (http://www.duecentogradi.it/) and gelato at a nearby gelateria. mint for her, caffe for me.

Stay tuned for Pt. 2 of our trip!
